| Cantifix and Interwest Merger |
|||||
Interwest has recently been acquired by Cantifix, the London based architectural glazing specialists, as part of their plans to provide a greater range of glazing solutions that match the project location, available budget and the degree of design input required. Cantifix are a family run business established in 1986, a year before Interwest, and is still managed by the founding directors. Interwest was established by John Harris and with John’s enthusiasm for understanding every aspect of the customer’s requirement, Interwest has become a by-word in the South West for delivering projects on time, on budget and with the attention to detail rarely seen in the sector. On the acquisition by Cantifix, John remarks: 'They were the company that showed the greatest commitment to preserve the identity of Interwest and at the same time grow and enhance the business. I am sure their reputation for clear and competitive pricing will be attractive for your future projects and they have the capacity and initiative to continue to drive the business forward'. John will remain with the business, and with support from the existing Interwest staff (who themselves have a combined 85 years of experience at Interwest), and with direction provided by Cantifix, the ethos of the company will be preserved and extended to a wider market. The joining of both companies has the additional benefit of increasing Cantifix’s geographical coverage to the South West of England and South Wales while Interwest’s expertise in curtain walling and educational and public sector projects can be extended from the South West to the South East of England and London area. Already we have seen a number of enquiries for mix scheme packages that contain elements of glazed curtain walling, together with more complicated glass elements, and customers are encouraged that a single source business is capable and willing to handle each element, and with the same high standard of customer service. Sophie Willey has become our Business Development Manager having moved from Cantifix, where she spent 3 successful years in the Sales Department, to Interwest and will be the conduit for projects that combine the unique talents of the two companies. These are challenging business times for everyone, but Cantifix’s innovative thinking and keen exploration of ideas for sustainability, the anthropological aspects of glass dwellings and the further enhancements we can offer, backed up by our sales, design, fabrication and installation departments mean an exciting future is in store for both Interwest and Cantifix.
